Usui Reiki

What is Reiki?

Usui Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy healing practice that promotes deep relaxation, balance and wellbeing. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei, meaning universal or spiritual wisdom, and Ki, meaning life force energy.

Reiki is based on the understanding that life force energy flows through all living things. When this energy becomes depleted, stagnant or out of balance, we may experience stress, fatigue or a sense of disconnection. Reiki aims to support the natural flow of energy, encouraging harmony within the mind, body and spirit.

This gentle yet powerful therapy is deeply relaxing and can support you during times of stress, change, emotional challenges or when you simply need space to rest and restore.

What Happens During a Reiki Treatment?

During a Reiki session, you will remain fully clothed while relaxing comfortably on the treatment couch.

The practitioner places their hands gently on or just above specific areas of the body, allowing Reiki energy to flow where it is most needed. Each treatment is unique, and no effort is required on your part other than to relax and receive.

Many people experience a deep sense of calm and peace during a session. Some may notice sensations such as warmth, tingling, coolness or gentle energy movement, while others simply enjoy a profound state of relaxation. It is quite common to drift into a light sleep during treatment.

Who May Benefit from Reiki

Many people choose Reiki to support:

• Stress reduction and relaxation
• Emotional wellbeing and balance
• Better sleep and restfulness
• Feelings of anxiety or overwhelm
• Recovery during challenging life experiences
• Personal growth and self-awareness
• Increased sense of calm and inner peace
• Overall wellbeing and energetic balance

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that supports the whole person, helping to create space for relaxation, renewal and self-healing.

How Will I Feel Afterwards?

Most people leave feeling deeply relaxed, calmer and more grounded. Some experience greater mental clarity, emotional ease or a renewed sense of energy and wellbeing.

As every person is unique, you may notice subtle shifts continuing over the following days. Drinking water, resting if needed and allowing yourself time to integrate the experience can help support the benefits of your session.

While all of these therapies on this site are widely used to compliment conventional medicine,

it is important to mention that they should not be used as a replacement for conventional medicine.
